The Gateway – Stainless Steel Sculpture
Commissioned by Wharepapa Enviro Haven in Tasman, The Gateway is a sculptural feature conceptualised by local artist Grant Palliser. Installed at the entrance to the site, it reflects stories of whakapapa, environmental care, and connection to nature — themes at the heart of founder Hazel Nash’s vision for the Haven. Fabricated in marine-grade stainless steel with polished interior surfaces and etched iconography, the piece combines artistry with engineering to create a lasting symbol of welcome.
